Tradistionalist vs Secular Progressives

Secular progressive vs Traditionalist-I recently read a wonderful book entitled Cultural Warrior by Bill O’Reilly, great book, highly recommended. In this book Mr. O’Reilly talks about two groups in America that we should be focusing on both within politics as well as culturally. No not Democrats or Republicans but Secular Progressive and Tradistionalist. Let me define them as he does as well as how I define them. Only one word is needed to describe Secular Progressives…HOLLYWOOD…no I am just kidding or at least I wish. According to Wikipedia Secularity is a state of being separate from religion. Progressivism “refers to a broad school of international social and political philosophies.” (Wikipedia). Now the progressive movement is not a bad thing, in fact this movement has done a lot of good for our country such as promoting civil rights, disbanding monopolies, and improving our environment such as creating national parks which we all enjoy. However, progressivism in conjunction with secularism can be dangerous. Which we are facing currently. As soon as God/religion is taken away we are in trouble(Wikipedia)
Those who believe in “traditional American values” that our country was founded on are considered traditionalist. We believe that the basic and most important element in our society are families consisting of a mother and father. We believe in God and believe He plays a very vital role in our decisions regarding this country. We also believe in keeping with traditional standards that uphold our values in family. Marriage between a husband and wife, sanctity of life in the womb or out, maintaining each constitutional right, capitalism, are just a few things that we agree on. I do however believe that too much of a good thing is a bad thing. We need a little of both in our culture, progressives as well as traditionalist. I believe we are living in a world that is constantly changing and evolving. We need to be willing to change and evolve with it to continue to make our county and world a great and safe place. We should constantly be looking for ways to improve our environment and our societies. However, I believe in the way to do that is with traditional religious values intact. On our quest for a better tomorrow we must not forget our God who is giving us our todays!

You like O'Reily? I think he is a little crazy sometimes. I'm more a Glenn Beck fan. But anywho, I like what you had to say. Unfortunatey, we don't have a candidate running for president that really represents those traditional values. You either pick socialist Comrade Obama or I-really-am-more-old-school-democrat-at-heart-than-conservative McCain.
