Change of mind

So I decided to change my mind about Obama...i mean how could you not like him!
Gone are the days of personal responsibility; with an Obama Nation it is okay to make mistakes, His Government has promised to take on the consequences. My husband and I realized that with all the great promises Obama has made, we will always be okay in our financial situation...even better! I mean we can go buy a 400,000 dollar dream home, a 60,000 dollar dream car and even though we can't afford this, it is okay b/c according to Obama, not only will we be bailed out but we deserve this and guess what the GOVERNMENT will pay for our financial disaster!!
We also will get FREE healthcare...EVERYONE will get FREE healthcare...isn't that so awesome!! (althought, in the wee dark hours of the night, i wonder where exactly this money will be coming from...gee i sure hope not from our hard earn money, b/c then it would not exactly be free...)
Our country's economic system will improve not just for us but especially for our children; with his plan to slowly abolish a free market system by allowing government to control everything, just make sooo much sense...I mean just look at how well our government has been able to accomplish things in the past (can't wait to see what they do to our healthcare)!!
This whole thing about redistribution of the wealth, it sure does not take a genius to figure out how this will CREATE more money for the middle class and our troubled economy...
No more terrorism and wars to trouble our country with; I hear from all of Obama's community organizing events, he has become quite an extraordinary negotiator.
He is also a pretty popular man these days, as it seems every celebrity in our high moral society of Hollywood has adamantly endorsed him.
Lastly, he is really someone for everyone; he is muslim, christian (probably catholic as well), white, black...(ann coultar, talks more on this).
So please ignore those silly conservatives...They will tell you he is just a puppet to the secular progressives-he is now at there bidding....they will tell you that he is one of the most liberal voting senators in Washington, they will also tell you that he has ties with some pretty bad people...just ignore these lies, and just be complacent to the change that will slowly take place in these next 4 years.

Obama Nation

I have to admit, although I really do not like McCain, I really do not like Obama even more. I was pretty surprised that majority of Americans voted him to be our next president. Not only do we have a very liberal president but we also have liberals running the house and senate! Ahhh! So at first I was pretty fearful about our future. In what direction will these secular progressives take our country? I mean when you have a liberal government like we now have, we will also have very liberal supreme court justices. I never realized how important these guys are but they are the ones who basically define what the constitution is and actually have the power to change it. Therefore, justices who are secular progressives will change our constitution to agree with their views. This is a quote given by Ezra T Benson at a BYU devotional; “…How are they going to know what the Constitution is, so they will know when it is on the brink of ruin? In many of the law schools of today you will hear that the Constitution is whatever the Supreme Court says it is. Could it be that the Supreme Court, which President McKay said is leading this nation down the road to atheism, is the agency to tell us what this divine document is (David O. McKay, Church News, 22 June 1963; Jerreld Newquist, comp., Prophets, Principles, and National Survival, pp. 187–88)? Can we learn best how to preserve it by studying what it is at the hands of some of those who are seeking to destroy it?” I do not ever really remember learning about our constitution, in school. I mean I know we learned a little bit about it but we never really learned it. I think as concerned citizens and as members of the church of Jesus Christ it is our duty to read up and learn about our constitution, so that we can be aware when it is being slowly redefined and we can appropriately fight for the tradition of the founding fathers who were inspired by God to write. (Pres Benson suggests reading a book written by Clarence Carson entitled the American Tradition). I also find comfort in the talks from our recent general conference. How inspired it truly is. There are talks on hope, joy in the journey, a return to virtues, peace with one another, pray always…. I feel that for now we will be okay, that whatever direction our country goes, if we are living righteously and know that ultimately God is in control we have no need to fear.
I have also been so impressed with how well the saints in California heeded the leaders of the church and there call to vote YES to proposition 8. It amazes me to see the outcries of the opponents (I believe over1000 protestors were standing in from of the L.A. temple). Watching the leaders of our church and members standing together to fight this and protect the constitutional amendment of marriage between a man and a women. This truly is a moral issue and one that could have devastating effects to our country had this ban been removed. As I have witnessed this, the quote by Joseph Smith comes to mind; “when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction" (M8d 155, Bx4, Joseph Smith, Church Historian's Library).” Until this moment I never truly understood what this meant. Now I understand and now I understand what our job is as members of the Church of Jesus Christ. Now that we have secular progressives in control, we really need to be the watch dogs for the future of our constitution.

The American Dream VS The American Promise

The following is from Wikipedia;
Historian and writer James Truslow Adams coined the phrase "American Dream" in his 1931 book Epic of America:
"The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement... It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position."[2]

What this translates to me, is through thrift, honesty, and hard work, we all are given the opportunity to succeed. This is true because we live in the land of the Free (by free I mean freedom from gov’t oppression) the American Dream was never suppose to mean that wealth, fame, and big screen TV’s were a guarantee!
The American Promise aka the utopian society!
Yes you heard it first from me, the American Promise is unrealistic and impossible to achieve. The idea that the Government should and will create this is simply ridiculous and foolish to believe. (Call me a ‘naysayer’ Obama, but I am living in reality.) I actually first heard about this American Promise from Obama at the DNC. However, I realize this is the goal of most liberals.
The American Promise appears to be better than the American Dream (who would have thought that Obama is more saintly than our founding fathers). Let me give you the definition as I see it;
"The American Promise is that Promise of a land in which life will be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with guarantees for each according to the government. It is not a dream , it’s a promise, of motor cars and high wages , a promise in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are deserving, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position."
It does sound wonderful that everyone should be able to have free education, healthcare, nice homes, and safe places to live, peace to dwell among every nation…this is what EVERYONE would like,however, we have not yet been celestialized, so we make do with what we have. History has shown that a free capitalistic society is the ideal society to have for individuals to have a chance to succeed. When government intervenes and tries to force people to have it all is when we become n oppressed people. Government cannot create a utopian society because we will never have righteous leaders…too much power to one person creates corruption. We want a change from Washington. We as Americans are tired of dirty corrupt politicians. I believe it is because we are sick of the Government messing things up for us (such as our economy). Here Obama wants more Government intervention and it feels like too many Americans are falling for this again! Wake up America, Obama is not for us, he is for himself, he wants that power that all of these politicians are fighting for. If we are not careful we will vote to give that power to him.

Let me be clear

I believe that majority of Americans are sick of our Government, sick of how politics is. We are tired of they way Washington is run..corrupt politicians!! We want a change a different candidate who understands this and will change this! I do not thing either candidate understands this. This frustrates me about both John McCain and Obama, the annoying thing is that Obama's campaign slogan is Change we can Believe in. Well, what change exactly, more government involvment b/c i believe majority of Americans do not want this..this is what we are sick of, we want less gov't and less corrupt politicans!! I believe that McCain is not much better...however he IS the less of the too evils!!

Obama CANNOT win!!

I believe that the American people are smarter than the liberal media thinks. All I hear from them is praise and optimism about Obama, they must think that b/c they love him we will follow suit, without thinking for ourselves. I believe that majority of Americans do NOT want our country to radically change, possibly, under a very liberal president-OBAMA. I think a lot of Democrats really do want a better country, so do Republicans. I do not believe that Obama stands for the democratic party, i believe he stands for the secular progressives. Those who are debating about casting their votes towards obama...please take time to think about what this really means. Block out the views of HOLLYWOOD and the MEDIA. and think about a very Secular Progressive movement running our country. Is that what we want? for our children? Secular progressives demean religion and change our traditional values in radical ways. Obama may be against the WAR, he says he wants to pull out...fine that sounds great...but DO NOT let this be the reason you are voting for Obama. Stop and realize there are far greater values at stake with an Obama presidency. His plans for our country will cause our downfall! He may take us out of war, put he will allow ABORTIONS, GAY MARRIAGE, RAISE OUR TAXES, MORE GOV'T INVOLVEMENT. The two most important points however, are Abortion and Gay marriage...why are the good democrats ignoring this about Obama...OR is it Okay with them?? If it is SHAME ON THEM! War is not a more pressing issue than allowing innocent life to be murdered and God/religion to be ultimatly demeaned but legally recognizing gay marriage! these two issues alone will ultimatly destroy our country...why are whether we are at war or not more important than these two issues? I repeat this will literally destroy our country. we Must be a God fearing country!!
Don't believe me? lets look at Obama's voting record:
(1997) voted to allow partial-birth abortion (don't know what this is? shame on you, you should not be allowed to vote)
(2000) voted yes to allow state funded abortion and induced miscarriage
(02) voted NO to allow protection of newborns. part of the born alive infant protection package(if a child is born alive after an abortion, the child is then neglected through failure to provide medical treatment
I could go on. Obama may "look good" and be a very eloquent speaker, but beware he is like a wolf in sheeps clothing. sure i hate to go to war and would like our soldiers to come home, however, it is more important that we keep our country morally strong or we will destroy ourselves from the inside. Please do not let the fact that he is against the war cover up MORE important issues!

Judging us by our Friends

All throughout my growing up life I was taught to be careful who you pick as your friends, b/c they tell a lot about who you are. I was also taught that you can be easily influenced by those you admire, look up to, and associate with. We all judge people based on their clothes, the way they talk (if they had southern accent we would judge them to be somewhere from the south), and what they said and did. So it is only natural to question Obama’s choice of friends/associates. From Bill ayers to Reverent Wright and so on(see The skeletons in Obama’s closet). What is it about Obama that Bill Ayers is interested in, why are they friends (yeah I know Obama denies this friendship and also claims he never knew that Ayers was a Terrorist?) you have every right to judge someone by who they hang out with and who their MENTOR is!! Who you associate with tells a lot about your character and since no one knows a whole lot about Obama this is a good clue in finding out who this guy really is...this is very worrisome.

If you don't vote for Obama, you must be a racist!

I am pretty tired of Obama and Obama’s supporters constantly pulling the Racist card…I mean come on! Is it just me or am I only hearing about how racist America is from obama and his supporters…sorry I like McCain b/c unlike Obama he won’t destroy this country. Please, if anybody out there who is an Obama supporter, I am really curious as to why you are? What is your reasoning, I really want to know, it just seems so obvious to me why I would not want to choose Obama…
Reasons to be weary off…
1. Obama wants to raise taxes, I just do not see how taking more of our money “(on top of the 700 trillion dollar which will be coming from our taxes) will help our economic situation. Also, I feel like I am a pretty intelligent human being, I mean it seems common sense that if you only tax the rich (incomes higher than 200,000) these are the people who are INVESTORS and JOB CREATORS, not only will this hurt them who help us with jobs but also this will destroy small businesses, they will never make it! How will this be good for our economy, it seems common sense to me that this will be disastrous for our economy. Any Obama supporters want to answer this??
2. He is in favor for more gov’t legislations, Government run schools (which by the way our public education is already pretty messed up), government run healthcare(we have the best in the world now), government controlling MORE of our money (via taxes), need I go on? This smells like…SOCIALISM. Which has destroyed other countries. We are the land of opportunity we have that American dream all because of our capitalistic society which OBAMA wants to radically change. Please tell me I am wrong?
3. We want a change in Washington, isn’t that Obama’s whole campaign slogan, Change we can Believe in, well how will he be able to reach across party lines when he is the most liberal voting senator?
4. Where is Obama’s experience? I feel like I missed that part about him somewhere …anyone?
5. This was a quote by Matt Damon, yes another political expert from Hollywood. It is actually about Palin, but I swear he meant Obama…“I think there is a really good chance that Obama could be our next president, and that is a really scary thing, b/c I don’t know anything about Him…I know he was a community organizer and a new senator…this is like a really bad Disney movie, you know the community organizer, ‘oh I am just a community organizer from Illinois’ and He’s the president and it’s like he’s facing down Gladimur Putin, and you know using the folksy stuff he learned at community events…its absurd its totally absurd and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about it and how absurd it is. It is a really terrifying possibility, the fact that we’ve gotten this far and we are that close to this being a reality, is crazy. I really need to know if he thinks Dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago, I want to know that, I really do, b/c he’s going to have the nuclear codes, you know, I want to know if he thinks Dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago, or if he banned books or tried to ban books…I mean you know we can’t have that.” (don’t believe Matt Damon said this check it out on Youtube)

ABORTION

Abortion: An assault on the Defenseless. That is the title of the article in our church’s Ensign by Elder Russell M. Nelson. First off that me say that I believe in the sanctity of life. I believe that we all were created in the image of our Heavenly Father. Our bodies and our lives should be regarded as a gift from God. The only being who has the decision to take life is God himself. It is fascinating to me to hear how those who are pro choice refer to abortion. First we hear that because it is the women’s body it is therefore her choice and her choice alone. She should be given that choice of whether she wants to have this baby or not. Secondly, we hear pro choice as a women’s privacy matter. Those who are pro life have no regard for a women’s privacy. This is trickery! Do not be fooled by the way it is spelled out. This is about ABORTION. And there is no way around it. You cannot make it look and feel okay…it never will be. There is a great debate about when life actually begins. It seems to me, according to Russell M. Nelson, who not only is a very inspired individual but also a great medical surgeon, believes that life begins at conception when the sperm meets the egg and the cell is created. He also points out that over 40 million abortions are performed each year that is higher than the total deaths of soldiers in both WW1 and WW11 combined (only 30 million military fatalities). I suppose it all boils down to free agency given the right to choose. I don’t want to take away a persons’ God given right to choose! However, we CANNOT take away the consequences of our choices whether they are good or bad. Let me spell this out very clearly to those who are prochoice. When we choose to participate in an activity that causes one to get pregnant that than becomes the consequence of our action. At some point in our history we have ignored or tried to erase personal responsibility and accountability. This I believe has helped to cause a slight downfall in our nation, culturally as well as politically. We simply cannot erase the consequences!! It is sickening to hear how casual some can be when it comes to abortion. For instance, I believe it was The View (I do not recommend watching this show as it will make you stupider). They were discussing Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy. They said and I quote, “I just hope she was given a choice as to whether to have this baby or not…” the hairs on my arms stood up. This statement scared me. How does it make you feel? As a mother, I suppose I have become more sensitive. I felt sad for this little defenseless baby. Over 40 million babies are given no chance at life because it is more important that we respect a women’s privacy. What it truly is is that 40 million babies are dying because we have women and families and doctors who do not believe in personal responsibility or the sanctity of life. My question to prochoice “ers” are why not adoption. I know of several wonderful loving couples who are trying to adopt. Why not accept the consequence of your own action. Many believe that abortion is okay if the baby will be deformed i.e. down syndrome. This makes me sad, do we understand the purity and the love that these children have and can teach us. It is not our decision to choose whether a child is fit to be born or to be destroyed. It is my personal opinion that our body has its own natural process of detecting proper cell development; with improper development causing miscarriage. When we take God out of the picture we no longer have an appreciation for the sanctity of life. We as women and mothers must stand up for the defenseless and preserve the sanctity of life.

Tradistionalist vs Secular Progressives

Secular progressive vs Traditionalist-I recently read a wonderful book entitled Cultural Warrior by Bill O’Reilly, great book, highly recommended. In this book Mr. O’Reilly talks about two groups in America that we should be focusing on both within politics as well as culturally. No not Democrats or Republicans but Secular Progressive and Tradistionalist. Let me define them as he does as well as how I define them. Only one word is needed to describe Secular Progressives…HOLLYWOOD…no I am just kidding or at least I wish. According to Wikipedia Secularity is a state of being separate from religion. Progressivism “refers to a broad school of international social and political philosophies.” (Wikipedia). Now the progressive movement is not a bad thing, in fact this movement has done a lot of good for our country such as promoting civil rights, disbanding monopolies, and improving our environment such as creating national parks which we all enjoy. However, progressivism in conjunction with secularism can be dangerous. Which we are facing currently. As soon as God/religion is taken away we are in trouble(Wikipedia)
Those who believe in “traditional American values” that our country was founded on are considered traditionalist. We believe that the basic and most important element in our society are families consisting of a mother and father. We believe in God and believe He plays a very vital role in our decisions regarding this country. We also believe in keeping with traditional standards that uphold our values in family. Marriage between a husband and wife, sanctity of life in the womb or out, maintaining each constitutional right, capitalism, are just a few things that we agree on. I do however believe that too much of a good thing is a bad thing. We need a little of both in our culture, progressives as well as traditionalist. I believe we are living in a world that is constantly changing and evolving. We need to be willing to change and evolve with it to continue to make our county and world a great and safe place. We should constantly be looking for ways to improve our environment and our societies. However, I believe in the way to do that is with traditional religious values intact. On our quest for a better tomorrow we must not forget our God who is giving us our todays!

The Begining-Moms For America!

I am a mother of two beautiful children, my husband and I just finished school and currently my husband is working on his MBA while working fulltime. We are living in an apartment saving money to hopefully buy a house someday. Since becoming a mother fulltime, I have three hours (naptimes) a day to devote to myself! I have consequently turned to the news and have quickly become interested in current events as well as politics and other social ideals that are changing the shape of our culture. There have been several hot topics arising in this country that have concerned me as an American citizen as well as a mother who wants to have a hopeful and bright future for my children. I have decided to start this blog Moms For America in hopes to share my opinions and concerns to other Mothers (and Fathers) who might agree with me or even disagree. I hope that this blog can be a site where we can come together despite our differences in backgrounds and/or opinions and try to discuss our roles in helping this country to be the best it can be. I also hope to promote my view of Traditional values and why I believe they will be the saving grace to our nation.
